The Arbor Inn Motel is located North of Boston on historic and scenic route 1A. Centrally located amongst the historic towns of Gloucester, Rockport, Salem, Newburyport, Essex and Rowley. For history buffs, Ipswich has more 17th century buildings than any other place in America. Over 40 homes still used today were built before 1725. There are many year-round events in Ipswich and the surrounding towns including Olde Ipswich Days arts & crafts festival in July, eclectic musical offerings from symphonies to coffee-houses, and many celebrations. Area restaurants offer both casual and formal dining, canoeing, hiking, beaches, horseback riding, antique hunting, golf and great shopping.


From Boston/Points South:

  • Take 95N to exit 50, Rte. 1N (Topsfield)
  • Follow Rte. 1N for approximately 4.4 miles (past Topsfield Fairgrounds)
  • Turn right at second traffic light after Fairgrounds, Ipswich Road
  • Continue for approximately 5 miles to Ipswich center
  • Turn left onto Rte. 1A North
  • Follow for approx. 2 miles Arbor Inn Motel will be on your right
  • From Maine/Points North:

  • Rte. 95S to exit 54, Rte. 133E left off exit
  • Continue on Rte. 133E
  • Cross Rte. 1 continue
  • At end of road take right onto Rte. 1A South
  • Continue on Rte. 1A Arbor Inn Motel will be on your left
